Videophone helps save a life
Konnekt video phone assisted me to visualize my Mum, I am pretty certain my Mum would have died a very horrible death in her unit within 24-48 hours — Cheryl Kolff, daughter, Australia
Cheryl was overseas in the USA. Her mother Judy was suffering from a life-threatening bowel obstruction, but dementia prevented her from verbalizing her pain. Konnekt Videophone with auto-answer allowed Cheryl to see how unwell her Mum was, comfort her, and talk face-to-face with paramedics.
Adequate water consumption has been a huge challenge. Her face just lights up when she gets a call. Mom’s dementia limits her comprehension to the point that she is not able to pick up a receiver or even push a button without someone telling her to do so. Konnekt has solved that problem with it’s auto-answer capability for selected contacts — Sandy Flohrs, daughter, MN USA
Already seeing improvements
I am delighted with your innovative product and very grateful for the improvements that I am already seeing in Norma (she has significant cognitive decline). — Amanda Hill, daughter, Malaysia

Frequently Asked Questions
Does it require Internet or a phone line?
Videophone connects to any Internet modem/router via LAN cable or Wi-Fi. We can even pre-pair it to your Wi-Fi so that there’s zero configuration. Videophone doesn’t use a dongle for Internet because those things are unreliable. It doesn’t use an embedded SIM card because often, you want the mobile modem closer to a window.
Is it portable, like a tablet?
The Videophone is fixed securely to a table or wall-mounted. Therefore it can’t be lost, misplaced, stolen, or taken out of good Wi-Fi range. It is always where you expect it to be. No fiddly chargers, cables, connectors or stands. No flat batteries, ever. It can’t be left where you can’t hear it ring, to go flat.
Does it call regular phones?
Yes. The monthly fee covers unlimited video calls, unlimited calls to regular phone numbers, perpetual software updates, and IT support for the user and all Contacts. It includes all additions and changes to Contacts and preferences, which are done by us, remotely, without anyone needing to visit.
If you don’t answer face-to-face, it can call your regular telephone numbers as backup. There are no numbers to remember.
Is it complicated to set-up?
It is extremly easy to set-up. In fact, you do not have to be physically present. Zero configuration: Just unbox and plug into power. We do it all for you, including personalization. Later additions and changes are done for you, remotely, without anyone needing to visit.
How easy is it to use?
The Videophone is extremely easy to use. One touch to connect face-to-face or answer a call. There is even auto-answer for nominated callers! Trusted family can check-in visually during emergencies and when there’s no answer, in case their loved one has fallen or fallen ill.
Videophone has a large 15-inch screen, 6-inch buttons, tall text, and high-contrast colours. It has EXTRA-LOUD twin real speakers, and an optional powered SUPER-loud speaker. The buttons are pressure-sensitive – you can use a telescopic pointer, gloved hand, prosthetic, anything – unlike a tablet or mobile phone. Konnekt personalises the contacts, volume, colours, auto-answer, and more, based on your needs.
Is it available in my country?
Yes, we have customers in the United States, Canada, Australia, Asia, UK, Europe and Africa. A typical delivery to USA takes 2-3 business days.
Is it compatible with other apps?
Skype is the video-calling technology of choice. It has longevity, reliability, and international support. Microsoft invests heavily in the apps and worldwide server infrastructure. Skype works well with minimal Internet speed, uses little data, and reconnects automatically after short outages. Skype screen-sharing lets you share not only photos but anything, such as a browser window or Facebook page, while you talk. Our deaf users use it for captions, lip-reading and sign language
Don’t use Skype? Don’t worry. We create a Skype account for Videophone before delivery, we help get your family onto Skype, and we set them up as one-touch contacts.
Will it work for my parent?
Most users are aged between 80-100, and suffer from memory loss, poor hearing or a mobility impairment. There’s nothing to learn or remember — and that makes it a success with seniors.
Dementia-specific features: Day/night modes; disabled power button; screen-saver options; and much more (call us to ask). We have experience with hundreds of dementia patients.
Hearing-loss features: Extra loud volume; SUPER loud powered speaker; hearing-aid compatible; flash the screen and turn on lights in other rooms during incoming call ringing; enables lip-reading and sign language; voice-to-text (captioning) option.
I live interstate. What if something goes wrong?
The Videophone restarts every night. It reconnects after Wi-Fi or Internet problems. Clever built-in diagnostics and remote trouble-shooting tools help us anticipate and correct problems before you notice. Any changes are made remotely without anyone needing to visit.
Many of our users live overseas from their family, so its essential that Videophone simply keeps working.
