Video Telehealth

Video Appointment via Konnekt

Instructions for Health Professionals

To conduct a telehealth consultation with your client using their Konnekt Videophone or Captioning Videophone, you have two options:

  1. Video-call using an app on an iPad/tablet or Smartphone
  2. Call the Videophone phone number, if it has one

1.Video calls on an iPad/tablet or Smartphone

To video-call your client or patient for a telehealth session using their Konnekt Videophone or Captioning Videophone, follow these steps:

  • Ask the Videophone owner to request an Invitation Link from Konnekt on your behalf.
  • On your Apple iPhone/iPad or Android phone/tablet: open the Invitation Link.
  • Your device’s app store will launch. Download, install, and open the free “CareWindow” app.
  • You’ll then be able to:
    • Video-call the client directly, or
    • Join an existing video call (e.g., between the client and a family member or carer).

If your call is blocked: Konnekt offers an optional Block Unknown Callers feature. If this is enabled, please contact the Videophone owner or Konnekt to request access.

Do Not Disturb: If you prefer not to receive calls during certain times (e.g. during appointments or rest periods), Konnekt can remotely enable Do Not Disturb mode to prevent calls from ringing your Videophone.

Note: If your organisation uses a different telehealth video platform, it may not be compatible with the Konnekt system. In that case, you can still reach the client via a standard voice call (see Option 2 below).

Both video calls and phone calls to your client’s Konnekt Captioning Videophone will be captioned automatically.

A video call with your client enables you to provide visual training, assist with diagnosis or testing, check on medication, and help with hearing aids / assistive technologies.

2. Phone Calls to the Videophone (Without Video)

Most Captioning Videophones and some regular Konnekt Videophones are configured with a phone number that you can dial from any landline or mobile phone—enabling audio-only calls.

To obtain the number, ask your client or contact Konnekt.

Standard phone calls to Captioning Videophone are captioned automatically.

This enables telehealth consultations without video, for medical organizations that ban or discourage the use of video calling on computers, iPads/tablets and Smartphones.

As with any phone call, you can use your landline or mobile phone to conference-in a family member, carer or another health professional, for a 3-way phone call.
